Our exercise techniques and programs are surfing specific to enable you to develop the muscle groups necessary to improve and extend your capabilities paddling out to, duckdiving under, and surfing on waves.

PIHA SURF SCHOOL also uses low impact "yoga" type techniques to increase agility and flexibility in all aspects of surfing.

Surfing can be a very graceful and totally enjoyable way to maintain fitness all year round.

Skateboarding is also an excellent form of cross training for surfing. Piha Surf School instructors can show you differing types of specialist skateboards that can assist you to perfect your balance and turns, and give you set routines that will speed up your progression once you are up riding waves.
